Burp does not preserve owner/group

It would be convenient if burp used --numeric-ids when possible (when running as root ?). The backup hierarchy could then be restored via rsync verbatim instead of relying on some external storage for the original ownership of the files.

@pilou do you know something on that topic by any chance ?

According to the Burp FAQ:

Q. Can you use librsync to do rsync feature X?
A. No, rsync has nothing to do with librsync other than them both using the same algorithm. Put another way, rsync does not use librsync.

Interesting: I indeed assumed incorrectly that burp is based on rsync…
